CoreMotion heading on iOS needs the figure-8 gesture and many apps just fail silently. Build a proper calibration flow: detect low heading accuracy, show a clear animated prompt, confirm when accuracy is good. This alone converts the biggest 1-star bucket.

Ship a clean build only if you can pair it with a distinct angle (garden sun orientation, telescope helper, prayer bearings) instead of a generic compass.
